Saturday 10th September 2022 – Market 775
Join with the traders to commemorate the 775th Anniversary of Romford being granted its market charter by the Crown.
The day will be heralded by the sounds of the bells of St Edward’s Church being rung out at 10.00am by the East London Bell Ringers. This continues a tradition which began in 1755 with the establishment of the St Edward’s Ringing Society, however the bells will be muffled out of respect to the Queen.
Visitors are to be welcomed into St Edward’s Church where an exhibition charting the 775-year history of Romford Market will be on display for all to see. There is also a book of Condolence that people can sign or take some time to sit and reflect.
