The Teapot Café, represented by Billy Hughes, Chief Cook
The Teapot Café located in Romford’s Shopping Hall is a long-standing pillar to the local community. Billy Hughes was nominated by the other members of the team to be the representative of the café since he has worked with The Teapot for the past 11 years.
We asked Billy what it meant for him and the team to be nominated as Romford Business Heroes
“The Teapot café has been cooking home cooked fayre since 1953. Most of our staff are long term members of our team and all have been loyal contributors to a team effort. Our longest serving member of staff is one of our cooks Coral, who has been with us for the past 18 years. I have personally been working for the café for 11 years and time “truly flies” when you are having fun”
Billy also tells us what it is like to work in a business in Romford “As a town Romford is a great place to work and there is always something going on especially in our Market Place and Romford Shopping Hall with a huge array of events which happen throughout the year.”
The Café is promiment member of the local community, he goes on to say “The Teapot cafe always makes a conscious effort to be a proactive and generous member of the Romford Community and provide a personal customer service with a human touch. We were proud to be major donors to the TIME FM Charity Easter egg Collection. As a team we are extremely honoured to be nominated as a Romford Business Hero and look forward to serving and feeding Romford for the next 67 years!”
